Remodeling and updating a property is one of the best ways to get a property market ready. However, if you aren’t careful you can end up spending more money than you will recoup. When remodeling you need to keep your bottom line constantly in mind. Try these three tips to help you save when remodeling:
#1 Paint. Paint is cheap and can do a lot to update and freshen up any space. Get a medium gloss so it will clean easy and pick a neutral tone that will work in every room. Many contractors choose white, but a taupe for the walls and a white for the trim to add a big pop.
#2 Handles and drawer pulls. A lot of homes and apartments that are built quickly usually do not have drawers and cabinets with handles and pulls. Adding those small, simple details will make any kitchen look cleaner and nicer.
#3 Do your own demo. The fact is that a skilled craftsman can make your property look awesome and will probably be worth the cost. So to keep costs down consider doing your own demolition. Rip out carpets that need to be replaced. Clean out kitchens and bathrooms. Then spend the money on making it look great.
