The more you learn to invest in real estate, the more you’ll realize that a great portion of your success depends upon effective communication. Often, real estate investors approach potential sellers who are in distressed real estate situations with a letter.
Here are two key tips to writing an effective one…
1. Let Them Know What’s in it for Them. Always speak in language that is focused on them: their needs, their problems, and the solutions you offer. Don’t spend a lot of time talking about yourself just yet, except to build credibility and prove to them you can help. Put the majority of the focus on the benefits they can expect to receive from giving you a call.
2. Stick To the Point. One of the first things you hear when you learn to invest in real estate is that sellers don’t want to wait for you to explain yourself. Get to the meat of the letter and let the seller know that you’re interested in their property. If they’re willing to sell, they’ll call you.
Whether you’re just getting into the real estate business or you a seasoned investor, knowing what information to put in your initial letter is key to getting responses from sellers. If you are looking to learn to invest in real estate, this is one area that you definitely want to master.
